The Days of the Blue Bat

by Salah Saouli

Ltd ed. of 300 signed copies
Offset + 3 colour silkscreen printing | Silkscreened cover | Hand-bound

Upon finding a stack of newspapers dating to 1958 while emptying his deceased parents’ flat, Salah Saouli discovers the 1958 “war”, “revolution” or “insurrection” as each involved party would name it. He goes on a search collecting vintage pictures and interviews and ends up with an installation blending all those elements in multiple layers.

Following the original printing techniques used by Saouli to produce his opus, the artist book blends offset printing with additional layers of silkscreen printing, and is hand-bound and manufactured.

An exhibition of a selection from the original installation will accompany the launch of the book at Plan BEY and will run until end of week.
