Beyrouth

by Barrack Rima
2nd edition of 150 copies
Silkscreen (2 colors) on Fedrigoni Old Mill 190g / 70x50cm

A poster edition from the eponym comic by Lebanese born author and illustrator Barrak Rima, who fist self-published a micro-edition of this comic in 1996 in Brussels. It shows Beirut in the post-war era, an era full of hopes and dreams of reconstruction and prosperity. As the author puts it: “18 years later, the city has lost its soul to foreign investors and petrodollars. In reality, the war has never ended, and amnesia now rubs shoulders with disillusionment and despair…”
