When we were kids, it was forbidden for us to draw the six branch star, as it was the star of Israel. We had to learn the five branch one, much more difficult to draw.
One day I fell in love with a boy who was in love with birds. He could recognise them from their songs. I was telling this to my friend Ali in the Paris metro, and he told me that he could also recognize the different sounds of bombs falling on beirut.
Every birthday, I had to wish for the return of peace to Lebanon.
